Yin yoga involves a series of seated and supine postures, typically held for 3-5 minutes at a time. This is accomplished through mental focus, deep breathing and physical movement. Chi Gong is very ancient and is considered a branch of Chinese Medicine. It is much like Acupuncture but uses movements and without needles. Chi Gong is the life force inside our bodies that open up channels, or meridians, which assist in bringing blood flow to your vital organs.
The meridians are all of the nerve pathways along which the body's vital energy flows, including nervous system and all blood vessels. There are two main meridians: One is called the governing channel and the other is called the conception channel. The art can be practiced by anyone of any age and even those with limitations. It is traditionally taught in the standing position but can be done sitting down as well
